New SmartMould generation- WDS integrates CHoNova’s technology

German moulding line manufacturer Winkler und Dünnebier Süßwarenmaschinen GmbH (WDS) collaborated with Swiss data technology company CHoNova AG to develop an All-in-One SmartMould, available as of May 1st, 2026. The innovation leader, already active in the field of intelligent moulding technologies for chocolate production, is bringing in CHoNova’s product structuring expertise to advance process and product quality monitoring.


The All-in-One SmartMould combines multi-sensor hardware and connectivity to provide a comprehensive, real-time understanding of chocolate structuring and production conditions.
Equipped with ultrasonic, temperature, humidity, vibration, magnetic field, and acceleration sensors, the system captures critical chocolate parameters such as crystallization dynamics, viscosity transitions, contraction, and mould detachment. Integrated into moulding environments, this solution enables continuous monitoring of both product and equipment behaviour, to optimize process stability, machine performance and product quality.

The All-In-One SmartMould is supported by a cutting-edge software platform, powered by machine learning and seamlessly connected to line operations, that turns data into action.
