ProSweets 2024: Review of the show

Diversity at the WDS stand

Confectionery machines from WDS cover the entire spectrum of moulded confectionery, ranging from lab to large-scale plants. The company therefore presented depositor systems for all pourable and tearable masses at ProSweets to reflect the full diversity of WDS plants. The product and system-specific programme parts provided ample evidence of the exceptional quality standards of Winkler and Dünnebier Süßwarenmaschinen. Another highlight was the EasyClean design, which makes it easy to change parts that come into contact with the mass or even replace entire depositor systems.

The WDS division sweetOTC has established itself as a specialist in technologies for the production of active OTC sweets, supplements and nutraceuticals. Specially for this sensitive field, WDS exhibited  a hygienic depositor system made of 100% stainless steel!

Customers were informed about complete customised solutions in designs qualified according to applicable GMP regulations. These solutions cover the entire value chain, from brainstorming to the development of individual confectionery products and specially adapted production processes.

When it comes to digitalisation, WDS demonstrated challenges and solutions of the industry. The challenges of digitalisation are difficult for individual companies to overcome. Therefore, as a founding member of the SweetConnect partner network, WDS is focusing on multi-vendor networking and digitalisation in the confectionery industry. At ProSweets this year, WDS presented ready-made digitalisation solutions that have already been successfully tried and tested by the industry and gave a live demonstration of the growth of the platform.

The recently introduced webshop offers customers entirely new possibilities: customers can now track stock levels live and have an easy, convenient way to order spare parts. When connected to SweetConnect, orders can be placed for products from all participating companies in a single shop, eliminating the need for isolated solutions. “From my direct talks with numerous customers, I find it highly motivating to gain an appreciation of the added value they get out of our services and digitalisation solutions in practice. Their interest in these is evident everywhere”, explains Head of Service Matthias Triesch, summarising WDS’s successful trade fair appearance.
